Gomukhasana Yoga pose

Gomukhasana Yoga is  a hatha yoga that means lightness of the head. It also represents the shape of the head of the cow which is represented by the folding of thighs. This asana might seem slightly complex and confusing in the beginning but the practice of few weeks you can easily master the technique.

Procedure

  • Sit with your legs spread in a straight position in front of you.

  • Slowly bend your knees and start crossing your right over the left leg in such a way that your right knee lies on the top of your left knee.

  • Slowly bring your right foot close to your hip and make sure that your heels are equidistant from your hips.

  • Try to keep your feet farther from your hips as the more distance will enhance more stretching.

  • Sit evenly on your sitting bones. If you are not comfortable sitting on the bones then insert a thin folded blanket to make yourself comfortable.

  • Try to stretch your arms forward in such a way that they are parallel towards the floor.
