Trikonasana pose is also called as triangle pose. This asana is named as triangle pose because it has the body shape of a triangle. It helps in augmenting the movement of half spinal twist . It helps in stretching your spine and also tones your spinal nerves and therefore maintains the digestive system. It helps in making your body lighter and also enhances the efficacy of other asanas .


  • Stand straight and separate your feet upto at a distance of 4 feet.

  • Turn your right foot out 90 degrees and left by 15 degrees.

  • Balance your whole body weight on both your feet.

  • Inhale deeply and start exhaling and bend your body to the right , downward from the hips. Make sure to keep your waist straight .

  • Allow your left hand to come up in the air while your right hand comes down to the floor.

  • Stretch your left arm toward the ceiling, in line with the tops of your shoulders. Keep your head in a neutral position or turn it to the left, eyes gazing softly at the left palm.

  • Make sure that your body is bent sideways and not backward or forward.

  • Stretch as much as possible . Keep taking long and deep breaths . With each exhalation relax your body more and more.

  • Come up and bring your arms down to your sides while inhaling.

  • Repeat the same on your other side.
