Basic Principles of Vaastu
In Vaastu , a square plot of land is mainly divided into nine divisions and every divisions is represented by a unique deity or flow of energy. Also, every architecture is based on three fundamental principles mainly
- Height and Weight
- Slopes and Elevations
- Exalted and debilitating positions
All the classical and contemporary texts agree on the above two principles but the modern day tend to vary from the classical text s on the third principle of vaastu. Classical text says that exalted positions are on Western Southwest and Northern Southwest. Classical texts gives the following on the basis of nine deities present in each position whereas modern view is based on the principle of height and weight and energy flow between planets. But we have applied the modern principle in vaastu and on applying the ancient principle sometimes inconsistencies arise. So , in all the upcoming post we will be following the modern principles only.
Principle of height and weight
- South and West should be with less open space and at a higher elevation.
- Southwest should be heaviest in height and heaviest in weight .
- Southeast should be second highest in height and weight.
- North should be lower than south.
- North should have more open space than South.
- North and East should be lighter and at a lower elevation.
- East should be lower than West .
- East should be lighter than west.
- If the area is slopping towards Northeast from Southwest then it is very good vaastu.
So this was all about the basics of vaastu . Look for your property and identify your zones. The best vaastu can be achieved to start the construction on an open plot. If you have already have an architecture, don’t worry in the upcoming post we will be guiding you for the same.
